We’re growing our JDO New York team – and we’re looking for exceptional talent to join us.

Our brand design studio sits on sunny Madison Avenue, home to a tight-knit, high-performing team that combines boutique energy with global impact. RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative thinking & crafting excellence You own your craft with growing confidence, generating bold, beautiful ideas and refining them into standout creative. You balance concept and execution, pushing the work while sweating the details. You experiment with AI tools to elevate craft, streamline iteration and bring new angles to your ideas.

Strategic & brand alignment You translate brand strategy into relevant, distinctive design. 
You’re thoughtful about the brief and brave enough to challenge it when needed; always constructively, always with care. You look beyond the task to the broader opportunity, helping steer work that resonates.

Studio process & project delivery You manage your workload independently, prioritising smartly and delivering with consistency. Your files are clean, your structure is intuitive, and your communication keeps projects flowing. You spot risks early and work with others to keep the creative on track.

Team collaboration & contribution You’re a steady, positive presence in the team, supporting others with insight, encouragement and reliability. You bring fresh references, thoughtful feedback and
a generous approach to critique. You help create a team dynamic where creativity can thrive.

Leadership & mentoring You lead by example, not by hierarchy but by action. You help create the conditions for your team to succeed: by being clear, reliable and inclusive. You share your learnings, bring calm under pressure and model what ‘on it’ looks like.

Commercial acumen You take ownership of your time and the creative value you bring.
You understand how time tracking supports project health, and how scoping affects creative freedom. You stay aware of budgeted hours and make choices that protect both quality and viability.

WHAT THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE

You’ll deepen your creative confidence, sharpening your thinking, honing your craft and starting to shape the creative direction of the work you lead. You’ll learn how to guide juniors informally, contribute more meaningfully to critiques, and hold the brief with more strategic awareness. You’ll also grow your influence within the studio: developing your presence, your point of view  and your impact on the wider team.

EXPERIENCE

You’ll probably bring around 3–5 years’ experience in a brand, packaging or design studio environment, but we’re more interested in the quality of your work, creative thinking and ability to contribute confidently as part of a small team.

LOCATION AND FLEXIBILITY

We offer a hybrid working model at JDO, with a minimum of three days in the studio, and two days from home.
